FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is your jewelry hypoallergenic?

As someone with metal sensitivities, I know how important this often-overlooked aspect is when making earrings and other jewelry. I only create jewelry that I can and would wear myself. All earring posts are titanium. Titanium is considered to be the most hypoallergenic metal. Earrings that are designed with ear hooks will be made with niobium, gold-filled wire, or sterling silver wire. Chain necklaces are either gold-filled or sterling silver.

What brand of seed beads do you use?

I exclusively use Toho and Miyuki seed beads in my designs. These seed beads are precision manufactured in Japan and are renowned for their consistency in color and size. Their high quality makes them ideal for bead weaving and provides perfect and beautiful results every time. I carefully selected beads to ensure that they were hypoallergenic because some seed beads can be coated in nickel. I also took into consideration the durability of the beads that I selected, and I did my absolute best to only select beads that would withstand constant wear. However, most seed bead finishes will not stand up to organic solvents such as perfume and eau de toilette. So just make sure to avoid directly spritzing your jewelry, and you will be able to enjoy these for years to come!

What kind of thread do you use?

I use Fireline to hand weave the beads together. Fireline is a thermally-bonded, polyethylene thread that was developed to be fray and stretch resistant, waterproof, and able to withstand consistent wear. These beaded paintings for your ears are meant to be worn and enjoyed for a lifetime!

Does your brand care about sustainability?

Yes! I will always do my best to source materials from companies that care about both our planet and our people.

All one-of-a-kind jewelry will be delivered in custom-created packaging meant to protect your jewelry when it's not being worn. A wood storage box that is lined with Sensuede will be included with your purchase. I can also custom engrave your gift box with a message for the recipient.

The wood storage box is made with Columbia Forest Products PureBond plywood. Columbia Forest Products has been a leader in sustainable forestry and innovative manufacturing. PureBond is created without formaldehyde and instead uses a soy-based adhesive.

I chose Sensuede for the lining of the box because it is beautifully designed and responsibly manufactured. It is created with advanced textile technology that is highly eco-efficient, and it is manufactured from recycled polyester materials and plastic bottles.

Art prints are printed on Hahnemühle Hemp Base - Eco Paper. Hahnemühle Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibers in the world and is made of 60% hemp fiber. This giclee paper’s base has a bright white natural tone, and because of the bright white color of the hemp fibers, no optical brighteners are required during the manufacturing process. The lightly textured and premium matte surface gives the paper a silky feel. Colors and details are brilliantly reproduced; the depth of the black truly stands out and contrasts are reproduced with stunning effect. This paper is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance. Hemp was an essential part of paper production for centuries, and due to its extremely robust fibers, it has often been used for long-lasting historical documents, such as the Gutenberg Bible and the US Declaration of Independence!

I have done my best to ensure that shipping packaging is plastic-free, compostable, and/or recyclable.

Sometimes my best can be better! Please feel free to reach out if you have any concerns or if you see an area where I can improve. New technology and options for sustainability are improving every day. I'm a big fan of iterative design in all aspects of my life.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Please keep your jewelry in a safe, clean, and dry storage area. The custom box included with your jewelry was designed to serve this purpose. It's a good idea to store your pieces flat, out of direct sunlight, and separately, to prevent tangling and scratching.

High quality beaded jewelry is durable, but it is not indestructible. Try to avoid wearing your jewelry while doing household chores. I mean, if you have to dress up in order to make chores bearable, then by all means, get dressed up! I am not here to tell you how to live your life! Do your best not to wear your beaded jewelry while showering or swimming. Chlorine in the water can damage the finishes on some beads. It's a good idea to wait until after you've finished applying cosmetics, hair products, skin care, perfumes, potions, tonics, and tinctures to put on your beaded jewelry. I take into consideration the durability of the beads that I select, and I do my absolute best to only select beads that will withstand constant wear. However, most seed bead finishes will not stand up to organic solvents.

Seed beads are made of glass and can break. Life happens. Things break or get lost. Don't fret. I keep a small amount of spare beads for each one-of-a-kind creation so that I can repair an item if needed (you're responsible for cost of shipping). I can also remake an earring if one were to get lost, for half the cost of your pair of earrings. In the case of needing to remake an entire earring, it is possible that a certain bead color/finish can be discontinued. I will do my best to match the new earrings to the old one.
